What our parents say about Seeds of Love Collective's OWLS program:

"This micro forest school has been an incredible journey for my son. It has brought him closer to nature and in touch with the importance of social emotional growth in a safe and kind setting. Armed with a nature lover's vocabulary, he has blossomed into a great scientist and an enthusiastic writer. Great friends are made to meet and provide soft landings on a regular basis." 4/2024

"Seeds of Love Collective runs an "Open Wilderness Literacy and Science" (OWLS") program in the true forest school tradition, using nature to prompt exploration, creativity, literacy, scientific discovery and social/emotional development. Brooke is a fully credentialed educator who is passionate about reaching each individual learner where they are and each week's curriculum is thoughtfully planned out with educational goals for individual and group learning alike. My ADHD kiddo thrives in this environment, having the freedom to move around outside while also being gently directed into focused learning. Each week Brooke creates a beautiful newsletter, summarizing the activities that were covered during the previous week, complete with photos and YouTube links to further learning, recommendations for family-friendly activities around the Bay Area (if nature-inspired, all the better!), and goals/plans for the coming week. You can view a sample newsletter here: Seeds of Love Collective: OWLS, Open Wilderness Literacy & Science Fall Opening Highlights. The website for the program is here: https://www.seedsoflovecollective.org/. Brooke is super easy-going and all the kids love her. The program runs Tu-Th 9:00 am - 3:15 pm, with flexibility within that schedule." 10/28/2022

"If you are open to a collective meeting outdoors at Tilden, we recommend connecting with Brooke at Seeds of Love Collective! She is experienced, credentialed, and resourceful at facilitating engaging projects for kids. Our child thrived in her pod during the 2020-21 school year (when they were 5) in Trackers Micro-school. Trackers is not running Micro-school this fall but Brooke is creating a literacy and science focused collective on her own." 8/19/2022

"I'm so glad we found this program! My son has been attending 2 days a week and it's such a lovely complement to our homeschooling curriculum. I love knowing he's spending full days outside in nature with peers while also learning literacy and science! A visit day was a great way to check out the program before we made a longer commitment." 11/6/2022

"My child participates in this program and loves it. She loves the friends she made, she loves her teacher. This program is very well organized and offers an amazing amount of resources and learning opportunities for the kids!" 1/6/2023

Activity Hero:

"We visited OWLS on a rainy autumn day, and my 7 yo had a wonderful time. She naturally loves nature and science but this was her first, real experience immersed in wilderness. Brooke (the instructor) has an infectious love of natural surroundings that easily draws students into being curious themselves. The small group of students are kind and thoughtful, and very welcoming of my shy 7 yo! The approach to learning is gentle, nurturing, and respectful to each other and nature. I highly recommend visiting OWLS!" 11/7/2022
